The Filmmakers
Spencer Longmore is originally from the Bronx, New York and attended Utica College earning a B.S. in Public Relations. Spencer began his producing career at the age 23 as an executive producer of the critically acclaimed Gospel Hill (20th Century Fox) starring Samuel L. Jackson, Julia Stiles, and Angela Bassett. This spring-boarded him to not only produce a series of films, Before Dawn Breaks, The Gift of a Letter and Last Shot but to also star alongside Channing Tatum and Anne Fletcher in the dance hit, Step Up (2006).
In 2012 Spencer and Emil Pinnock formed a non-profit Christian-based organization, Youth City Media (YCM), which is an afterschool media program that teaches urban students life skills through the fundamentals of film making. Through Youth City Media Spencer has produced 14 short films and gala events at the Archlight Theaters in Pasadena, CA. Currently Spencer is in production of John Stone, War on Planet Earth, a paranormal action thriller.
Amilcar Monterroso began his career in the entertainment industry writing music for electronic dance music producers, AJ Mora and Richard Vision. Amilcar went on to write music for HBO, Coke-a-Cola, Univision Music and Grammy award winner Coolio. In 2008 he made the leap from music production to film production and while attending California State University, Los Angeles, he earned awards for Best Short Film, (Life is too Short), Best Song (Survive All the Pain), Best Short Script, (American Terrorist) and best PSA, (Remix Our World).
After earning a degree in film production, Amilcar became an assistant editor at LATV in Los Angeles and gained experience developing youth programing. In 2009 after volunteering for N.A.L.I.P and LALIFF Amilcar realized that Hollywood and Latino producers were not creating films for the exploding Latino youth market. Seeing this as an opportunity, he decided to begin the Fearless movie project. Currently Amilcar and Spencer Longmore have formed Voltius Digital in odrder to produce social advocacy documentaries and feature films.
